Is my fabric tote sturdy enough for everyday use?
Yes, I have cdesigned a sturdy tote and I use an interface fabric between the layers to add body and strength to the entire tote - even the straps. I also double stitch every seam (once on the inside and again on the outside).
NOTE: The inside seams are not visible once the tote in finally sewn together.
Most of my clients have several totes and switch them in and out of rotation in their wardrobe. You can have totes made for each season, for sporting events, for gift-giving, and "girl's night out on the town". I have made matching Easter Sunday totes for mother and daughter. Your options are endless!
I would rather have my fabric tote dry-cleaned. Is it OK to dry-clean?
Yes, you may dry-clean your tote if you wish. The only thing is, once you dry clean it, you must always dry-clean it because of the chemicals used in the dry-cleaning process.
I prefer to wash my totes in the washer, hang them to drip dry, and restore its body with a medium/high heat iron.
Is my fabric tote really reversible?
Yes, I have constructed these totes so that they literally can be turned inside out or outside in! Even the straps will reverse to the other fabric. Half the fun in ordering your tote is deciding which two fabrics to pick; they can be in contrast to each other, or in the same color family, or you can mix colors and patterns... you decide!
What do I do it my fabric tote starts looking dirty?
I have made my fabric totes so that they can be washed in your clothes washer with similarly-colored items. You can dry your tote in your clothes dryer... BUT IT WILL SHRINK NOTICEABLY.
It is BEST that it be hung out to dry and then ironed with a medium-high heat iron. Ironing after cleaning will restore its original body and structure to your tote. Don't forget to iron the straps to make them nice and flat again!
Can I send you my own fabric to be made into a tote?
Yes, I will accept the buyer's own fabric to make a special tote. The fabric most be 100% or at least 95% cotton in order for me to work with it to my satisfaction. There is a nominal fee in addition to the price of the tote; please email me in regards to you sending your own fabric to me.
A young girl's dress that she can no longer wear can make a wonderful tote or pillow! A young girl's christening dress can be made into something gorgeous for the future bride to cherish. The possibilities are nearly endless!
